- I am changing my telephone service to a cable/internet based phone service. Will that affect my alarm system?
It all depends on the alarm system that you have and the type of phone service you are switching to. Give us a call and we will be happy to give you a more definitive answer and guide you to the best solution.
- Can I set my alarm for extra security even when I am inside my home?
Yes. Most security systems allow two basic alarm settings. One for Home and one for Away.
- Can I set my alarm when my dog or cat is home alone?
Yes. If you have pets that often remain in the home when you are away, American Alarm will design a system with motion detectors that are adjusted to be more pet friendly.
- Is it true that I get a discount on my homeowner's insurance for having an alarm installed?
You’ll have to check with your insurance company to be sure but most of the major insurers do offer discounts to homeowners that have security systems installed in their homes.
- What happens if I accidently set off my alarm?
Enter your personal security code into the keypad to silence the siren. Then please call American Alarm's monitoring station at 845-564-3763 ext. 0 and provide the operator with your name, address and all ok word/phrase.
